The National Service 1951-72 Re Enactment Unit Inc – Advertisement for Vacancies
The Unit was formed in March, 2013 by Ex National Servicemen.
With the upcoming retirement of the Unit’s President, Guard Commander, Armourer and Quartermaster, we are seeking expressions of interest from people to fulfil these roles. Currently these roles are carried out by the one person but can be split into 3 different roles.
Details of the roles are:
President – To arrange all Committee and General Meetings, arrange all training parades and services at Nursing Homes, Schools, RSL’s and Retirement Homes. Liaise with Fire Arms Registry and Police to ensure all necessary regulations are met, arranging Insurance for Unit, applying for Grants.
Guard Commander and Armourer – to act as the Commander for all Parades and services, organising training of all members including rifle drill, close order drill, drumming and flag bearers. The Armourer must be in control and storage of all fire arms. Gun safes are currently held for storage by the Armourer. They will also be the nominated person on the Unit’s Fire Arms Permit.
Quartermaster- to store, order and issue all uniforms. 3 storage cupboards are held for use by the Quartermaster.
Our next services will be during April and early May for ANZAC Day.
Training is normally held once a month. However, with ANZAC Day approaching this is now once per fortnight.

You may also wish to attend one of our training parades on 23 February, 1st March, 22nd March, 5th April and 19th April, 2024 held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, East Gosford from 5.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
The successful Applicants will need to hold a Working with Children Certificate and a Gun Licence.
